Capiceña seeks refuge at PH embassy in Oman
ROXAS City, Capiz – A 33-yar-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Oman stowed away from her employer and sought help with the Philippine Embassy in the said state.
Erlinda Alayon of Brgy. Bantique, Panay town sought the help of Capiz Vice Gov. Esteban Evan “Nonoy” Contreras to help her daughter, Grace Alayon Borja in returning back to Capiz.
Alayon said Grace left her employer as she could no longer endure maltreatment from her lady employer.
She said her daughter had been working in Oman under Sunflower Agency for four years as a babysitter. But her daughter also works on other household chores.
It was the fourth time that Grace attempted to stow away. The first three attempts were foiled.
But she succeeded this time around when she threw garbage outside the house which gave her the opportunity to leave and proceed to the embassy. By: Felipe V. Celino / The Daily Guardian
