MERS Cov now in the Philippines

Department of Health has reprted the first case of MERS Coronavirus in the country.

In a press conference by DOH Sec. Janet Garin, she said that a foreigner from the Middle East is now being treated at Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.

Nationality and name is being withheld.

A person who has close contact with the foreigner is now placed in isolation in the same hospital.

A team from the Department of Health was dispatched to trace the more than 190 people on the same plane and flight the patient was into.
